This is the first of perhaps many changes for the league heading into 2009. This has been discussed by all if I am not mistaken but I might not have heard from Adams.
In 2009 we will be adding some $$$ to the equation to up the interest level in the league. In what is almost always a highly competitive league I think this will only add to that. Based on the discussion we have had through email I am putting together this proposal to be voted on by everyone. Please post comments for your vote or if there are some tweaks and changes we can discuss as well.
Entry Fee: $50 per person (This will include the fees for the league as well)
Total Entry Fees eligible for winning: $480
Divisional Winners: $40
1st Place: $350 (fitting #)
2nd Place: $50
I think this is a good starting point and we can continue to add on either the transaction fees or just up the entry fees in future years when people are ready. This setup works well because the only people rewarded are divisional winners and the two teams who make it to the finals. With this layout only those teams will get enough to cover their entry fees really and the main person benefiting is the person who wins it all.
If there are changes people would like to make please let me know. Please post a comment voicing your approval and agreement.
Rules:
The only real rule is that all leagues dues are now going to be due to the commissioner before the first games of the season. Anyone who has not paid will forfeit their game. if you having some serious problems paying then by all means just let me know and we can work something out because I don't want this to truly cause someone a financial issue and although it is not much, $50 is $50.
All checks will be cashed ASAP and placed into an safety box until season's end.
